Day 2 in Mexico City

Churros being sold-like doughnuts

Fruit cart with mango, papaya, watermelon, honey dew.

Jacaranda tree which blossoms in spring here.
We walked from there to Mexico City's Botanical Garden which is way different than any other I've ever seen.

National Museum of Anthropology

Beautiful water fountain inside the museum courtyard.

We started with breakfast at a restaurant called Lalo where you sit at a long table together and it's crazy busy but very cool and the food is great.  I had pancakes with whipped ricotta cheese and lemon zest and Rob had French toast.

So many pastries

Mexico City

First of all, very exciting moment waiting for our flight to Mexico City from Puerto Escondido.  Julianne Moore (very famous actress) was there with her family doing her best to not be noticed but I saw her before she could hide.  She was on our flight here.

We made it to our apt. here and found a great place for dinner.  It was called Broka and we had soft shell crab tacos and rabbit tacos.  So good.

Our apt. for the weekend.  We are on the roof.  The guys that
own it live on the next floor down.  I think this was their
terrace that they turned into an apt.

Lagoon Excursion with Margarido, our guide

Today we went on an excursion to a lagoon to see some wildlife.  We didn't see any iguanas or crocodiles but we did see some very cool birds and a baby boa which was interesting.

Maria.  Rob named her.

She's squeezing my arm with all her might.

White-fronted parrot (I know, his chest is green but I think the white refers
to a spot above his beak).

More photos of Puerto Escondido

This lady was selling hammocks .

Shrimp, avocado, carrots on tortillas

Chickens are everywhere and the roosters crow in the middle of the night.
Sounds like someone is wringing their necks.

Great waves here.  Surfers paradise.

We learned the hard way to make sure not a crumb was in the sink or on the counter.  These cockroaches fly!

Goat for sale.

Hanging meat at the market in 30 degrees.  Chickens too. I may only eat vegetables.

A great dinner place we went to for a tuna burger which was amazing.

A house in our area.
